Born as Omah Stanley Didia, a 25-year-old hailing from Port Harcourt city in Rivers State, Omah's roots lie in the vibrant South-South region of Nigeria.

Initiating his musical journey during his teenage years, Omah was a part of the rap group, Lil King. However, a few years later, he transitioned from performing to producing, swiftly establishing himself as Port Harcourt's sought-after producer for hit singles. Despite his success behind the scenes, Omah rediscovered his passion for performing and decided to pick up the microphone again, recognizing that his newfound skills could propel his career to new heights.

In 2019, Omah released two singles, "Do Not Disturb" and "Hello Brother," both gaining substantial traction and securing a prominent spot on Port Harcourt's commercial stations. These releases played a pivotal role in building Omah's fanbase, marking the beginning of his ascent in the music scene.

Blending influences from Afrobeats, R&B, and pop, Omah's debut EP, "Get Layd," was a game-changer. Launched under the indie record label KeyQaad in May 2020, the EP quickly claimed the top spot as the number-one album on Apple Music Nigeria. Impressively, all five tracks from the EP found a place on the Nigerian Top 10 singles chart, solidifying Omah's position as a rising star with a unique musical style and undeniable chart success.

The song makes a subtle nod to discretion through a clever metaphor: "Omo, she be SARS and she carry full van." This metaphor effectively conveys Omah Lay's message, providing a clear image for the listener. It is this efficacy that indicates that, beyond the provocative nature of his lyrics, Omah Lay has the potential for mainstream pop success.

Despite the discernible use of autotune, his voice retains a pleasant quality, adding to the overall appeal of his music.
