92-year-old Media mogul Rupert Murdoch is engaged to his girlfriend barely a year after calling off his wedding from a previous partner.
This is Murdoch's second engagement in a year. Last March, the media mogul revealed plans to marry Ann Lesley Smith, a former dental hygienist and conservative radio presenter. However, the wedding was put off some weeks later.
According to the New York Times, Murdoch will marry Elena Zhukova, a 67-year-old retired molecular biologist.
Murdoch and Zhukova began dating this summer and intend to marry at Moraga Bel Air, Murdoch's luxury vineyard and estate in California.
In recent months, news websites have released images of the couple together. Zhukova is the mother of Dasha Zhukova, a Russian American art collector and former wife of Russian businessman Roman Abramovich.
Murdoch, who has a net worth of $9 billion, was recently ranked #280 on Bloomberg's Billionaire Index.
Last November, he stood aside as chairman of News Corporation, his media empire's print publishing arm, and handed over power to his eldest son, Lachlan.
Murdoch stated then that he will continue to play an "active role" in the company, taking on the position of chairman emeritus of Fox Corporation, which owns Fox News and other broadcasting assets.
Murdoch had previously married former flight attendant Patricia Booker, journalist Anna Murdoch, and entrepreneur Wendi Deng, who introduced him to Zhukova.
He married his fourth wife, a former model named Jerry Hall, in 2016. The divorce was finalized in August 2022.
It's unknown why Murdoch's latest engagement was canceled.
