President William Ruto has finally met with diminutive reggae enthusiast Stephen 'Rasta' Bhingi, who gained notoriety for his Rasta-inspired Tiktok content.
Mr. Bhingi has gained notoriety for his distinctive wardrobe, which includes a gideon boot, an oversized rasta hat, a scarf made of crotchet rasta colors, and camouflage coats and pants.
The jittery creator began promoting his content on TikTok, where viewers could see him either dancing and hanging out with boda boda riders at the Githurai Roundabout or essentially just lazing around his neighborhood in Thika, Kiandutu, prancing around and entertaining the cameras with reggae music.
In one of such videos, Mr. Bhingi is seen talking to unidentified boda boda operators who are enamored by his pint-size and sharp, coordinated outfit.

Then he tells them he is headed to the State House to meet with President Ruto and explain how the rising cost of living has impacted the average person's life.
“Naenda State House manzee…naenda kumwambia siku hizi kumearibika joo. Hakuna kanyamu," he says to the group of boda boda riders.
On March 18, photos and videos of Bhingi and President Ruto smiling at each other while striking the popular street foot-pose flooded the internet.
The President appears to be genuinely happy to have met the content creator, who also visibly wears what could be his brightest smile.
Born in 1997, Bhingi has appeared in several media interviews, speaking about his life and how he first fell in love with reggae.
He was among the guests invited for the announcement of monetization of content on Facebook, Reels, and Instagram when the President met with the Facebook Management Team on Monetisation at State House, Nairobi.
Among the other content creators present were Eddie Butita, Jaymo Ule Msee, and Jacky Vike, better known as Awinja.
