On Wednesday 20, Kenyans were stunned by the news that one of Kenya Kwanza cabinet secretaries was facing bankruptcy due to failure to pay for a house she recently purchased in the country's upscale neighborhood.

According to reports from The Star Media, CS Aisha Jumwa, who previously served as the MP for Malindi, is alleged to have purchased a house valued at Sh215 million in Runda. However, she has only paid Sh145 million and has not fulfilled the remaining payment. The property owners have issued a warning to sue the CS for defaulting on the payment. As per The Star's report, Jumwa has been granted a 21-day ultimatum to settle the full amount, failing which legal action will be taken against her.

The Star also published photos of the mansion for which the CS owes a debt. This disclosure has sparked widespread discussion among Kenyans, with many questioning whether Cabinet Secretaries are facing financial challenges. However, some individuals have suggested that instances like these may drive government officials to embezzle public funds in order to maintain lavish lifestyles.
