Former CNN anchor and current host of The Don Lemon Show Don Lemon has married his longtime boyfriend, Tim Malone, a renowned real estate dealer, in a lavish wedding in New York.

Linda Thomas-Greenfield, the United States ambassador to the United Nations, officiated the ceremony at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church in midtown Manhattan.

"She's a friend, and it means that much to us," Lemon says of having Thomas-Greenfield as their officiant.

The grooms wore custom suits by Suit Supply and exchanged rings made by Mark Lash, blending marital customs from their respective families into their unique ceremony.

“Tim is from a big Irish family, so we planned a big Irish blessing in there in his ceremony," Lemon says.

Lemon stated, "At the end, we jump(ed) over a broom."

According to Lemon and Malone, this pays homage to the once-symbolic means by which enslaved people in the American South recognized their weddings, noting that now, this custom is used to honor those who did it before them.

Several high-profile personalities from media organizations and Hollywood attended the ceremony.

The big day comes eight years after the couple met at Almond Restaurant in Bridgehampton, New York, and started dating.

The celebration also occurred on Malone's birthday and the fifth anniversary of their engagement.

After saying, "I do," the grooms smiled as they departed the chapel, holding their three dogs who were present at the wedding.
