Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Nairobi is coming up with many surprises and significant adjustments.

According to information from our entertainment desk, several Season 1 cast members will not return for Season 2.

Notably, three new housewives will be joining the cast for Season 2, replacing beauty queen Susan Kaittany, luxury expert Sonal Meharali, and motorsports enthusiast Lisa Christoffersen.

'The Real Housewives of Nairobi's' debut season featured a lot of drama, humor, and behind-the-scenes looks at the characters.

Showmax is launching new series concurrently, including Jiji, Big Girl Small World, Nilichoma, and others.

Ahead of its formal relaunch in Kenya in May 2024, Showmax has revealed a fantastic slate of original local productions, which it produced in collaboration with Comcast's NBCUniversal and Sky.

The streamer will debut a record four Showmax Originals in Kenya in May after releasing an incredible lineup of African Originals in February, March, and April.

Season 2 of the popular reality series The Real Housewives of Nairobi is included in this lineup. The show returns after a successful 2023 debut that broke streaming records, and its first episode became the most-watched launch for any title on Showmax in Kenya.

Along with Pepeta, another Showmax Original that won Best TV Drama and Best Viewers' Choice awards, The Real Housewives of Nairobi S1 also took home the Best TV Show prize at the most recent Kalasha Awards 2024.

The all-female writing team and director Nick Mutuma (You Again, Sincerely Daisy) of the new romantic comedy series Big Girl Small World and the dramedy Untying Kantai, written by Abel Mutua and directed by Philip Karanja (the Philit Productions team behind the AMVCA-winning films A Grand Little Lie and Click Click Bang) are also anticipated by viewers.

Additionally, Nilichoma is Kenya's first Showmax Original documentary series. It features well-known Kenyan figures who blew their sudden wealth after receiving it.

New episodes of the famous Kenyan drama Single Kiasi S3 will air every Tuesday until May 27.

Single Kiasi, which ranked among Showmax's top ten most-watched shows of 2023, was nominated four times for the Kalasha Awards in 2024: for Best TV Drama, Best Lead Actress (Faith Kibathi), Best Supporting Actor (Michael Munyoki), and Best Viewers' Choice (TV Drama).

"Showmax has been at the forefront of storytelling in Kenya. Our recent 26 nominations at the Kalasha Awards, a record high for our Originals, is a testament to that. This year, we're offering our viewers even more diverse content, not just from Kenya but from other parts of the continent as well. More than 1 300 hours of new Showmax Originals will be released in 2024 across Africa so viewers will be able to watch an average of more than 3.5 hours of fresh local content on Showmax every day of the year," says Showmax GM in East Africa, Emma Gichonge.

As the 2023–2024 season draws to a close, Showmax Premier League—the continent's first stand-alone Premier League plan—will keep showcasing must-see games from the most popular league in the world.
