Comedian turned activist Eric Omondi was arrested following demonstrations staged with 'Mama Mbogas' against the Finance Bill outside Parliament buildings along Parliament Road, Nairobi. Omondi has been protesting this year against the high cost of living, leading to police fatigue with his actions.
Accompanied by other women, Omondi faced a setback when the women attempted to save themselves by fleeing, reminiscent of Omanyala's speed at Kasarani Stadium. Omondi is currently detained at the police station as investigations proceed.
Video and photos observed by this writer show Omondi being forcefully handled by police officers stationed at the premises.
Omondi stated that he will not permit the government to burden Kenyans with the Finance Act of 2024.
“We will not allow this government to kill and suffocate Kenyans with the finance act 2024!!!Kenyans are suffering and dying in hospitals without medicine while they tax us to buy cars, houses and expensive travels abroad,” Omondi said in a post on his socials.
