Media personality and Reggae MC Mary Njambi Koikai has died after battling endometriosis for several years.
According to sources, the former TV host has been battling the disease since the age of 13 and has been in and out of the hospital for several years. In her last post on social media, she had pleaded with kenyans to donate blood to help her recover.
"Hi fam, I am currently admitted at Pioneer Ward Nairobi Hospital and I kindly require blood O positive. Kindly asking for a blood donor for Mary Njambi Koikai,” Koikai said on her X handle.
In her last post, she pleaded with the government to make significant investments in the health sector.

"This is a sincere and heartfelt call of help to a few Kenyan leaders but allow me to address this to President William Ruto first as he makes his state visit to the US. Mr. President, one of the thematic areas in your visit is investment in health." she said
"The damage caused due to late diagnosis and lack of treatment in our country.After fundraising for specialised treatment, the extent of the disease had spread to my teeth, heart, appendix and affected my spine causing my organs to shift to the left. The adverse effects of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis cause infertility." she added
"As you commence your State visit tomorrow to the US, I'd like to kindly add a few visits that would help the millions of Kenyan women battling in silence. Please pay The Center for Endometriosis Care and the Northside Hospital Women's unit and the directorship of Dr. Ken Sinervo, Dr. John Gouldman, the multi-disciplinary unit that helps to treat women from all over the world." she concluded
When not in the hospital, Jahmby Koikai was a woman filled with passion and dominated the reggae industry dominated by men.
She would effortlessly convert every performance into a flaming inferno, seemingly unconstrained and propelled only by her sheer determination to live and enliven her audience.
She did not choose to be pitied and came back stronger after every attack. She had her first gig after a lengthy stay in the USA for treatment, saying it was time to test her lungs.
"God is real, He is in control. Let the gigs, conferences, endo awareness, interviews, tours begin. Jahmby conqueror is ready. Kenyan reggae queen is back!"
Her death has hit the entertainment scenes, and celebrities and kenyans have come out to mourn the beloved radio queen.
Her former co-host, CNN reporter Larry Madowo, celebrated her as someone who lived and loved fully reminiscing on their last moments together.
"Njambi, Fyah Mummah, Empress, Jaber! If I knew this was the last time I would see you, I would have hugged you a little longer, told you again how much I loved you.Nobody lived as fully as you did, loved as deeply or fought as hard. Rest well, my friend" he posted
