Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris has disclosed that she will not seek re-election in the 2027 polls.

Speaking in Makadara Constituency, Passaris revealed that she is satisfied with the two terms she has served as Nairobi WR.

Passaris, who was elected on an ODM party ticket, declared her support for Cecilia Karanja, who had shelved her ambitions in the 2022 polls to support her.

"Cecilia campaigned for me 100%. And I tell you, in 2027, I am not interested in the woman representative seat. I have served my two terms and will not again eye that seat. But I want Cecilia to succeed me as the Nairobi women's representative," Passaris declared.

Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris announced she will not seek re-election in the 2027 polls. Speaking while distributing tents, chairs, shaving kits, and sports gear to local football teams in Makadara Constituency, Passaris shared her satisfaction with serving two terms.

Passaris, elected on an ODM party ticket, expressed her support for Cecilia Karanja, a health advocate on reproductive rights and founder of Fertility Kenya, an organization dedicated to helping families facing infertility. In the 2022 polls, Karanja, who was running under the Jubilee Party, stepped aside due to zoning in the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party to support Passaris. Subsequently, Karanja was appointed as the committee vice chair for the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) and serves as a representative for the Makadara subcounty.

"With a vast touch of the ground, I'm looking forward to vying for the women representative position come 2027 with the objective of promoting family values and economic empowerment," she said.
