Fred was reportedly hospitalized at Mama Lucy Hospital after being involved in the road accident, although the details of the incident remain unclear. Many Kenyans have come across the sad news and have flocked to offer their condolences to his family. Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko through his official X account extended his condolesces.
"I've learnt with sadness the sudden passing of Fred Omondi brother to comedian Eric Omondi, following a road accident along Kangundo Road; Fred was reportedly hit by a Forward Travellers matatu early this morning while on a boda boda and was pronounced dead on arrival at Mama Lucy Hospital.
The late Fred Omondi was an MC and event organiser during my daughter's graduation party. He did a tremendous job by bringing on board top artistes, dancers, and gospel singers to entertain our guests. On behalf of my family, I pray God comforts and gives the Omondi's family enough strength to sail through this storm. Receive my sincere condolences," posted former governor Mike Sonko.
