Months after Drake used Snoop Dogg's AI-generated vocals in a protracted feud with Kendrick Lamar, the Compton rapper was hailed by Snoop Dogg on Instagram as the “King of the West” for uniting West Coast rappers onstage at Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles.

Drake released “Taylor Made Freestyle,” his second diss track aimed at Lamar, in April, which also featured the AI-generated voice of the late Tupac Shakur. Drake used Snoop Dogg’s voice to urge Lamar to drop another diss track, questioning whether the rapper was “out of moves” and dared Lamar to show Drake “who's boss on the West.”

The track was part of a weeks-long war of words between Drake and Lamar. After Drake dropped the track, Snoop Dogg appeared to respond in a video on Instagram, stating: “They did what? When? How? Are you sure? Y’all have a good night. Everybody calling my phone, blowing me up. What the f***, what happened? What’s going on? I’m going back to bed.”

Snoop Dogg later praised both Drake and Lamar in May for “raising the bar as far as lyrics, as far as song making and writing,” calling them “my nephews” and clarifying he supports both rappers.

Drake removed “Taylor Made Freestyle” from his Instagram page just one week after posting it, after Shakur’s estate threatened to sue over his “unauthorized use of Tupac’s voice and personality.”

Lamar appeared to diss Drake, specifically “Taylor Made Freestyle,” at his “Pop Out” show. “Y’all ain’t gonna let nobody disrespect the West Coast, huh? Y’all ain’t gonna let nobody mock or imitate our legends, huh?” the rapper said onstage while performing his Drake diss track “Not Like Us”—which he performed five times in a row to close his set.
