Detectives in Mombasa County have arrested three individuals suspected of being behind a series of robberies in the city and its surrounding areas. Acting on intelligence, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) conducted a sting operation in Nyali estate on Links Road, resulting in the capture of two suspects.
The DCI identified the suspects as Ali Ahmad Ali, also known as “Mkali,” and Abdulrahman Arafat. Further interrogation of the duo led officers to their rented house, where they apprehended the third suspect, Mohamed Zulf.
A search of the hideout uncovered four pangas, two Y-6 twisted metal bars sharpened at the edges, eighteen small bales of bhang, ten assorted mobile phones suspected to be stolen, six spotlights, four suspected stolen sheep, a 32-inch TV, and a gas cylinder.
The three suspects are currently being held at Mombasa Central Police Station, where they are being processed and will await arraignment.
