Nelly's recent brush with the law at a Missouri casino didn't stop him from cashing in on a major slot machine win. The rapper walked away with a substantial sum despite the unexpected turn of events.
Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum, confirmed to Waza News that his client collected a $50,000 jackpot on a slot machine early Wednesday morning at the Hollywood Casino in St. Charles, Missouri. However, the celebration was short-lived, as the big win led to his arrest due to an outstanding warrant.
According to sources close to the situation, Nelly initially thought the arrest was a prank, as it occurred while he was in the process of collecting his winnings. A routine background check, however, revealed the active warrant.
Nelly was first handcuffed to a chair, with one hand left free to finish collecting his cash. After securing the winnings, officers fully cuffed him and escorted him out of the casino.

Rosenblum claims that an officer informed Nelly that they needed to run a background check before releasing his winnings. Nelly asserts that he had previously won larger amounts at the same casino without undergoing such a check. During the background check, an active warrant from a previous traffic stop was discovered, which led to the search of his belongings—where authorities allegedly found Ecstasy.
Rosenblum states that prosecutors have not yet charged Nelly with drug possession and is calling for an investigation into the arresting officer, claiming that the search was conducted without probable cause.
Despite the legal troubles, it looks like Nelly hit the jackpot in more ways than one.
