Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty, is facing significant backlash online after using a gay slur during a TikTok live session, with many also criticizing Nicki for not addressing the comment.

The incident occurred when the couple went live from a music studio on Friday night. While Nicki encouraged her fans to stay positive, Kenneth added a controversial remark, using a derogatory term often associated with the LGBTQ+ community in the rap industry.

This has sparked outrage among fans, particularly those from Nicki's large LGBTQ+ following, who feel she failed to defend them by not correcting Kenneth. Critics are questioning Nicki's support for her LGBTQ+ fans, with many expressing disappointment in her response—or lack thereof.

The couple, who married in 2019 and welcomed a son the following year, have faced their share of controversy, including Kenneth's requirement to register as a sex offender in California in 2020, stemming from a 1995 conviction for attempted rape.

We’ve reached out to Nicki’s team for clarification on Kenneth’s use of the slur but have yet to receive a response.
