Over the weekend, socialite Vera Sidika shared a nostalgic moment by posting a clip from an old interview where she had adamantly dismissed the idea of marriage—long before she eventually wed singer Brown Mauzo. Now a mother of two, Vera reflected on how surprising it was that she ended up embracing marriage after being so firmly opposed to it for so many years.

In the resurfaced interview, Vera Sidika firmly vowed never to marry. However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she unexpectedly fell in love with Brown Mauzo, leading to their marriage and the birth of two beautiful children. Sadly, their union was short-lived, as the couple mutually agreed to separate in August 2023.

Now, Vera is convinced that marriage is no longer in her future. Without delving into details, she candidly shared her thoughts, declaring that marriage is a scam.

"This was 8 years ago. I always said I never wanted to get married. Don’t know what happened during COVID-19, but I’ve been there, and trust me: marriage is a scam! Never again!" she wrote.

Meanwhile, Brown Mauzo appears to have moved on and recently hinted at being open to marriage again. In mid-August, after celebrating his one-year dating anniversary with his partner, Kabinga, Mauzo strongly suggested that he was ready to take the next step and tie the knot.

“This angel is giving me vibes to marry again. I confirm, let’s have a big ceremony soon. Your prayers,” he announced alongside a picture of Kabinga in a striking red dress.

He accompanied the post with the R&B song "I Can Love You Like That" by All 4 One, quoting some of the lyrics: “They read you Cinderella. You hoped it would come true. That one day your Prince Charming would come rescue you. You like romantic movies.”
