Director Trevor has openly criticized his ex-girlfriend, Mungai Eve, questioning her qualifications as a journalist. Speaking during an interview with Ankali Ray, Trevor stated that simply holding a microphone does not make Eve a journalist.

He further advised her to stop dressing like a socialite and suggested she return to school to learn proper journalism ethics. According to Trevor, Eve's focus on trending overshadows her understanding of media law and professional standards. He urged her to emulate respected journalists such as Lulu Hassan, claiming Eve's presentation misguides the younger generation on what journalism should look like.

Trevor also expressed disappointment, implying that people often fail to appreciate the support they received in their career journeys. “Wanagrow wanadhani kazi yako haikuwa ya maana,” he remarked, hinting that Eve might risk returning to the village if she doesn't take corrective action.

Trevor's criticism was further fueled by his dissatisfaction with Eve’s recent interview with businessman Simon Kabu. In a series of posts on X, he labeled her conduct during the interview as unprofessional and demanded an apology, asserting that her approach fell short of professional expectations.
