Kenyan singer Akothee is calling for help after a shocking robbery at her Mtwapa residence, where thieves made away with her cherished sound system. Deeply shaken, the outspoken artist took to Facebook to share her anguish and is now offering a KSh20,000 reward for any information that could lead to the recovery of her stolen property.

The break-in reportedly took place at night, with the intruders accessing her home and stealing valuable items, including her piano and music equipment. Akothee suspects it may have been an inside job—her dogs didn’t bark, the security guards were absent, and the gates remained untouched as the robbers freely moved through her home, even dismantling items in her bedroom.

Having lived in Mtwapa for over 17 years, Akothee expressed her heartbreak that such a violation could occur in a place she has always considered safe. She appealed to anyone with useful information to contact her brother Foky at 0759964723 and promised a cash reward to anyone who helps bring the perpetrators to justice.

For Akothee, the stolen sound system is more than just equipment—it represents a core part of her music journey. “It’s a symbol of my career,” she said, revealing that she couldn’t even part with it to donate to a school. In a heartfelt plea, she urged the thieves to return the sound system, saying they could keep the other items instead.

Fans have rallied behind the singer with messages of sympathy and support, while many voiced anger over the incident. The robbery has raised serious concerns about home security and the need for community vigilance in protecting residents and their property.
