Trade CS Moses Kuria has fired back at comedian turned-activist Eric Omondi after he expressed his opposition to the finance bill 2023.

In an Instagram post, the self-proclaimed president of comedy said that kenyans must hold the kenya kwanza alliance accountable for failure to fulfil their promises. He adds that kenyans have bigger things to worry about, like not having food.

"We must call out the Kenya Kwanza Government for lying to Kenyans. The President promised us a BETTER LIFE a CHEAPER LIFE and an EASIER LIFE, but now the Narrative has changed to Housing...No Kenyan is Homeless, what we need is food on the table not higher Taxes." said Omondi

his statement triggered the trade cs, who, instead of addressing the issue, said that he regrets that seven years ago, he funded the comedian's trip to America to experience the world and see what was out there.

Kuria goes on to say that he should have used that money to throw a lavish party instead because it doesn't seem like Eric learned anything from his experience abroad.

Eric omondi has been on a humanitarian parade in the past few months criticizing the government for the high cost of living in the country. He was arrested for protesting outside parliament but was later released on ksh 5000 cash bail.

The comedian was accused of creating a barricade and shouting on the road. This was deemed to be disruptive and inconvenient to other road users.

Less than a week later, he was arrested again in Kisumu during a protest march. Omondi led a group of locals protesting the high cost of living, increasing fees, and unemployment along Jomo Kenyatta Boulevard.

The comedian was arrested for distributing unga to residents and causing traffic snarl-ups. A hurried motorist jumped out of his car to confront Eric Omondi, and a brawl rapidly erupted between the two.
