Ababu Namwamba, CS for Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts, has resigned from the Talanta Hela Council and Technical committees, according to Singer Akothee.
Akothee bemoaned on her Instagram page that the decision would now give her detractors something to discuss.
"Why ministry?" How can you wake up and rescind my appointment like that, knowing I have haters I have kept on their toes since the beginning of this year?" Akothee bemoaned.
Sports journalist Carol Radull chaired the Council's Sports Technical Committee, while the Creative Technical Committee was to be chaired by comedian and radio personality Daniel Ndambuki, nicknamed Churchill.

Akothee had been selected for the creative committee. Veteran media personality and actor Jimmi Gathu, actress Catherine Kamau, social media influencer Azziad Nasenya, and singer Wahu Kagwi were also on the committee.
The Mama Oyoo hitmaker revealed that her year had begun nicely and that waking up to such dreadful news had destroyed her mood.
"The way I've kept my hater guessing. They'll now have a cause to sleep....why ministry...why?" she moaned.
The Talanta Hela Council and Technical Committees were dissolved in a Gazette Notice No 7509 dated June 9, 2023.
"It is hereby notified for the general information of the public that the Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports, and the Arts has revoked Gazette Notice No. 1649 of 2023, (notice establishing Talanta Hela Council and Technical committees)."
The revocation comes approximately three weeks after High Court Justice Lawrence Mugambi stopped the program while a case filed by Charles Mugane was heard and decided. Mugane claimed legal and constitutional issues in his certificate of urgency case.
The CS appointed the Talanta Hela Council and two technical committees to assist with implementing the initiative, the goal of which is to find, attract, nurture, and monetise talents in both sports and the creative sector.
