On Tuesday, Johnny Depp's attorneys rested their case in his defamation trial against Amber Heard after 13 days of testimony, and Heard's legal team began presenting their case.
Depp is suing his ex-wife, Amber Heard, claiming that an op-ed she wrote in 2018 defamed him and caused him to lose his job in Hollywood. Amber Heard is anticipated to testify as early as tomorrow.
In the days leading up to Tuesday, jurors heard from more than a dozen witnesses, including Depp himself, called by Depp's counsel. Many witnesses testified about the former couple's heated conflicts.
Mike Spindler, Depp's final witness, testified Tuesday about his estimate of the earnings Depp lost due to 2018 op-ed, which did not identify the actor by name.

Heard's attorneys filed a petition to strike the case, a frequent technique in civil disputes, minutes after Depp's legal team rested its case, alleging that Depp failed to prove his defamation claim.
Judge Penny Azcarate denied the request in part based on two grounds. Still, she indicated she would reconsider one additional issue if Heard's team provided information relating to it as she presented her case.
Dawn Hughes, a forensic psychologist, testified as an expert in domestic violence in the trials of Nxivm founder Keith Raniere and singer R. Kelly, assisting in the convictions.
Hughes, who evaluated Heard and specialized in intimate partner violence, said Depp sexually abused her.
She also claimed to have diagnosed Heard with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Hughes stated that Heard was not a client but that she objectively examined the actress in connection with the lawsuit. Hughes said that she spent 29 hours with Heard beginning in September 2019.
Hughes further stated that Heard was subjected to sexual violence, whilst Depp, according to Heard, was subjected to "none."
Depp's side has consistently accused Heard of being the abuser in the relationship, citing an incident in Australia that resulted in Depp losing a portion of his finger, among other things.
Depp's counsel will cross-examine Hughes on Wednesday morning.
