On Thursday, June 15, just after his UK tour, Eric Omondi, a comedian turned activist known for his dramatic antics, caused quite a stir in Mombasa County with a video that quickly went viral on social media platforms.

The video featured Eric Omondi instructing Kenyans to line up for packets of maize flour(Unga) and house(Nyumba). The video garnered considerable attention and sparked widespread discussion online. As the footage circulated online, viewers reacted with various opinions regarding Omondi's unconventional method of distributing the food.

The incident has contributed to the ongoing conversation surrounding his actions in Mombasa County, fueling further debate and generating mixed reactions among the audience.

In a widely circulated video, Eric Omondi was captured on the streets of the United Kingdom allegedly begging for money to purchase "unga" (maize flour) upon his return to Kenya. The footage depicts Omondi seated on the pavement while passers-by generously donate funds to him. It is reported that he managed to raise an impressive amount, exceeding Ksh 340,000.

The reason behind Omondi's trip to the UK was said to be a response to the Trade CS Moses Kuria, who had criticized Omondi for opposing the finance bill of 2023. Kuria claimed that he had personally financed Omondi's trip to the USA with the intention of exposing him to different cultures, expressing his regret over not having spent the money on an extravagant party instead.

This recent incident involving Omondi in the UK has attracted significant attention and generated discussions about his actions, further fueling the ongoing narrative surrounding his stance on the finance bill and the reactions it has garnered.

While embracing his new role as an activist, Eric Omondi distinguished between content creation, music, and comedy. He stressed that his lobbying efforts are geared toward youthful content creators rather than established musicians and comedians such as Bahati, Khaligraph, Churchill, Willy Paul, Wyre, Sauti Sol, Akothee, and Obinna.
Eric chastised content creators who visited the White House, stressing their failure to convey their views. According to the comic, these people enjoyed the nice surroundings, having wine and tea, and posing for photos. He challenged content makers to utilize their voices fearlessly to have a meaningful effect.
