Lawrence Njuguna Wagura, also known as DJ Fatxo, has defended his cousin and driver in the suspicious death of Jeff Mwathi, saying if they were guilty, they would have been arrested.
"If they were involved, believe me wangeshikwa. Even the CCTV shows after I left the house, they came looking for me if I had passed out in the car," he said
Mwathi died after falling over Fatxo's apartment, prompting an investigation that resulted in his body being excavated due to public outrage. The deceased was buried a week after his death, but worried Kenyans accused Fatxo of being responsible for the young man's death.
The outcry was so loud that the government, through Interior CS Kithure Kindiki, initiated a probe and directed homicide investigators to follow the case to its conclusion. DJ Fatxo was at the centre of the investigation since Mwathi was last seen at his Roysambu home before falling seven floors and dying.

Fatxo had left the house with two ladies, leaving Jeff behind with his (Fatxo's) cousin and driver. Since these two were in the same residence as Mwathi when he fell and died, they became the focus of the investigation.
However, The DCI investigations exonerated the DJ and, by implication, his cousin and driver, implying that the dead committed suicide. Despite this, some Kenyans believe Mwathi was murdered and have continued to lay the finger at the three.
And now Fatxo has denied any participation in Mwathi's killing even again, even defending his cousin and driver.
In an interview with Comedian Obinna, Fatxo stated that he had not seen his cousin or driver in person since the incident, and they had never even spoken on the phone.
"I've never seen them before na macho yangu hivi toka venye hii mambo ilihappening." Waona na macho yangu sijawahi. Fatxo stated, "Sijawahi ongea na wao kwa sababu simu zetu zilichukuliwa na DCI."
According to Fatxo, authorities decided Jeff's pants were pushed down due to either the grills where he reportedly squeezed himself or the velocity as he descended from the 10th story, as his clothes worked as a parachute.
He also stated that detectives investigated Mwathi's claims of sexual assault. After exhuming his body, they conducted swabs, and all the tests returned negative.
Fatxo denied sacrificing Mwathi through his cousin and driver, claiming he was innocent and had nothing to do with his death.
