Grammys Membership is the driving force behind all activities conducted by the Recording Academy, ranging from voting at the annual Grammy Awards to promoting the advocacy of music professionals, supporting music education, and engaging in philanthropic endeavors.
Exclusive to Recording Academy members and select media companies, the privilege to submit their music and works for Grammy Awards consideration is granted. The responsibility of selecting the annual Grammy nominees and determining the ultimate winners rests with the Voting Members, who actively participate in this significant decision-making process each year.
Furthermore, members have the opportunity to put forth amendments to the official Grammy Awards Rules and Guidelines. This includes suggesting new Grammy categories and suggesting significant modifications to existing categories.
Members also have the privilege to run for positions on the Recording Academy Board or Committee, exercise their voting rights in Chapter elections, take part in exclusive programs designed specifically for members, and actively support fellow musicians through advocacy efforts.
