The government of Zanzibar has made it illegal for people to dance while wearing damp or skimpy clothing.

Women dancing in 'wet' attire has been outlawed by the government through the Council of Arts, Film Censorship, and Culture since it has been occuring in public and at events.

Regarding the ZBC ban, Doctor Omar Adam said

"There are between 50 and 100 events in Zanzibar, and we are powerless to stop them. We are fighting against playing loud music, not against listening to music.


And playing music in a way that is inconsistent with Zanzibar's morals and beliefs.

especially the current fashion among women to drench their clothing. It is illegal, and the police are authorized to detain such individuals.

When discussing the various problems facing the film industry, Dkt Omar made this statement.

Despite having its own government, Zanzibar is nonetheless ruled by Samia Suluhu, the president of Tanzania.
