The organizers of the Shoke Shoke Festival have postponed the event scheduled for July 19, 2023, due to the ongoing anti-government protests in the country.

The festival featuring artists like Ruger and Sun-El Musician has been rescheduled to September 9th 2023.

“Due to thye ongoing political unrest and protests in Nairobi, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the frestival from July 29th to September 9th.” 


Further, the organizers noted that the safety of the vendors, artists, attendees, partners and suppliers is a priority to them.

“We believe that moving the festival forward to a future date will ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

However, the organizers assured the attendees that their tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date.

“We are taking all necessary steps to ensure a seamless transition to the new datge with improved amenities and an even more unforgettable experience for each attendee,” they added.

Following the debut festival's remarkable success, it is no surprise that Shoke Shoke 1.0, featuring Ayra Starr, trended in the top three on Google Trends.

 The inaugural festival attracted over 5,000 enthusiastic concertgoers, garnered 20 million views for its TikTok challenges, trended as the number one topic on Kenyan Twitter in March, and facilitated the planting of 8,000 trees.

 In line with its commitment to environmental conservation, Shoke Shoke has partnered with Miti Alliance again and pledged to plant one tree for each ticket sold, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability.
