On the third anniversary of Chadwick Boseman's death, award-winning Hollywood actress Lupita Nyong'o paid a loving tribute to her good friend and co-star.

Lupita sent a heartfelt message and a moving photo of Boseman on Instagram, commemorating her grief after learning of his unexpected passing in 2020.

Lupita shared a black and white photo of Boseman in an airport in Korea in 2018, where they were arriving for an event, in her heartbreaking post.

The actress, recognized for her influential roles on the big screen, spoke about how Boseman's death affected her deeply.

"Three years ago today, I experienced a singular pain at the news of @chadwickboseman's death. The confusion was so profound that it took months to trust the feeling of joy again," Lupita wrote.

The photograph showed the two performers making the "baby heart" gesture with their fingers, displaying a moment of friendship and shared laughs.

"We had just learned to do the baby heart with our fingers. Here Chadwick was adding his suave flare. We spent a glorious 72 hours there, and the memory fills me with so much joy."

Lupita also spoke words of comfort to Boseman's admirers and reminded them of his lasting legacy.

"Death is hard to understand, maybe even harder to accept. But the love generated from the life he lived will fuel every anniversary marking his absence. Chadwick may no longer be in our photos, but he will always be in our hearts."

In the breakthrough Black Panther film series, Boseman and Lupita shared the screen, with Lupita playing Boseman's on-screen love interest, Nakia.

Boseman's impact extended beyond film, as he was acknowledged for his flexibility and talent in various roles.

His performance as T'Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, particularly in the legendary Black Panther, struck a chord with people worldwide.

On August 28, 2020, the legendary actor tragically lost his struggle with colon cancer, marking the third anniversary of his death this year.
