Second Lady Pastor Dorcas Gachagua has issued a stern warning to individuals she refers to as drug barons, asserting her unwavering commitment to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's campaign against alcoholism, drugs, and substance abuse.

Addressing the congregation at PCEA Kabiruini in Nyeri County on Sunday, Ms. Rigathi revealed that certain 'cartels' benefiting from the sale of illegal alcohol, which has led to the loss of young lives in the region, are now pushing back.

“The drug barons and those who sell alcohol are not happy and are fighting, but you cannot fight this family. I am standing on the altar and you will not succeed because we are doing God’s work,” she said.

She emphasized that alongside DP Gachagua, they remain steadfast in their mission to rescue young men in the country who have become ensnared in alcoholism, regaining their productivity and purpose.

“We are going to save our country and the boy-child. The beer, marijuana and those spirits, we are going to turn them into the spirit of God,” said the Second Lady.

As stated by Ms. Rigathi, the self-proclaimed barons and cartels have been actively opposing her husband and sons for their outspoken stance on this issue.

“My sons are changing and when you see him being fought [it is because] he is talking about coffee, tea, milk and all those barons and cartels. They have a lot of money and want to make him look like he is not the right person but he must do the work of God,” she said.

“Even when they fight him during the day, I pray for him and encourage him in the evening.”
