Bukayo Saka has been omitted from Arsenal's lineup for today's Premier League clash against Manchester City.
Following his substitution in the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur, the winger has been grappling with a series of injuries in recent weeks. Saka was compelled to leave the field after 34 minutes during Tuesday night's Champions League defeat to RC Lens, seemingly having sustained another injury the previous week against Bournemouth.
During his pre-match press conference on Friday, Mikel Arteta kept quiet about the 22-year-old's chances of featuring against City. However, the Gunners will have to make do without one of their key players as Saka was not included in the matchday roster.
Eddie Nketiah takes the starting position in Arsenal's high-stakes match against Manchester City at the Emirates. The 24-year-old steps in for Bukayo Saka, who is sidelined with a muscle injury sustained against Lens.
Unfortunately, he hasn't recovered in time for the match. Nketiah is expected to take the starting position up top, with Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard positioned on the wings.
Jorginho steps in at the base of the midfield. Declan Rice shifts to a slightly more advanced role, while Kai Havertz is substituted. Thomas Partey is only fit enough to be on the bench. In the meantime, Martin Odegaard leads the midfield for the team.
