Actress Gloria Moraa faces a legal issue after her dog bit a neighbor's four-year-old child in the Embakasi neighborhood of Nairobi three months ago.

The former Tahidi High actress is now defending herself against charges of causing harm, which is in violation of section 243(d) of the Penal Code, as well as accusations of acting recklessly and negligently.

To potentially have the charges against her dismissed, the media personality may be obliged to cover the hospital expenses of the child's mother, which exceed Sh150,000.

Moraa, a well-known social media influencer, is facing charges of recklessness that endangered the life of a 4-year-old child named AMA on July 30, 2023. This occurred due to her failure to take necessary precautions against a dog that posed a potential threat to the child.

According to court testimonies, the child was playing outside her residence with other children when her mother called for her to join her. Ms. Moraa's dog left her property, pursued the child, and subsequently bit her on the leg just behind the knee. This incident unfolded just moments before the child's mother reached the scene.

The child was transported to a nearby hospital with a bleeding wound.

Prior to arriving at the hospital, the child's mother contacted Ms. Moraa to inquire about the dog's vaccination status. However, Ms. Moraa was unable to confirm whether she had indeed taken the dog for the procedure.

According to reports, the accused kept promising to give the dog a vaccination certificate, but she allegedly broke her word and vanished.
