The conflict between Israel and Hamas rages, and Muslim leaders have called on the government to cut ties with Israel.
The leaders also want the government to cut ties with Israel and send back its envoy, claiming crimes against humanity committed during the ongoing conflict.
Abdullahi Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NAMLEF), urged Kenyans to show solidarity with Palestinians, whom he believes have borne the brunt of Israel's assault for the past 16 years.

"The Kenyan government should sever ties with Israel and recall our Ambassador," Abdi stated at a press conference at Jamia Mosque. "We call upon the National assembly to petition israel govt for the attacks."
In a statement to the media, Muslim leaders called the Israeli raid on Gaza in retribution for a Hamas attack "genocide against Palestinians."
"The tragic events unfolding with the dire humanitarian crisis owing to the siege, blockade and indiscriminate bombardment from the air, sea and land of the Gaza Strip, by Israel, has had no parallel in history," the president and prime minister said.
Despite the fact that over 2.3 million people, including women, children, and the elderly, have been living in Gaza for the past 16 years with no access to any exterior borders, Israel has now launched an all-out invasion of the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the leaders accused the US administration of assisting a "modern-day Holocaust by a terrorist state" by supplying gasoline, firepower, finances, and diplomatic support.
"We unequivocally condemn this savagery and barbaric behaviour by Israel and her collaborators, which is in stark violation of international law and complicate the search for a just and lasting solution," reads the statement.
The leaders have demanded that the sanctity of Al Aqsa Mosque, the third-holiest mosque, be preserved at all costs.
They further demand Israel cease all strikes and establish a humanitarian corridor through Gaza.
The leaders urge the forced removal of Palestinian families from their homes, the threat of closing hospitals and UN shelters, and the restoration of essential supplies such as water, food, medicine, fuel, and other essentials.
