Kenyans on Twitter were outraged with the kenya power and Lighting Company after being unable to acquire electricity tokens on the utility's prepaid system on Thursday morning.

KPLC admitted the prepayment system was down in a message issued at 8 a.m., saying they were attempting to restore it "as soon as possible."

"We are experiencing a prepaid system glitch that is affecting the generation of electricity tokens." "We are working to restore normalcy as soon as possible," the message stated.

"Kenya power .
