Kericho County is preparing to host the 60th Mashujaa Day celebrations, but there will be traffic and logistical changes.
On Wednesday, October 19, the Rift Valley Regional Commissioner (RC), Abdi Hassan, issued a directive for vehicles affecting road usage and access in and around Kericho.

According to the RC, the alterations ensure orderly circulation and increased security during the event.

Hassan announced that only vehicles with red and blue license plates will be permitted to drive through Kericho, with other motorists instructed to take alternate routes.
Public transport vehicles will not have access to the town's main streets; instead, they will drop off passengers in designated zones.
In addition, the Kericho main stage will be closed to the public and used as a parking lot for the elderly and disadvantaged.
Notably, Moi Garden ACK Church and Immanuel will function as VIP, VVIP, diplomat, and service provider parking places.
“Moi Garden ACK Church and Immanuel are reserve parking for VIP, VVIP, Diplomats and service providers whose vehicles will have the red, blue and white stickers respectively for identification,” the regional commissioner said.
Raymond Omollo, the Interior Principal Secretary, announced earlier this week that Kericho is fully set to host the national event, which will be presided over by President William Ruto.
After inspecting several infrastructure projects, including the Kericho Green Stadium, which will host the event on Friday, October 20, Omollo stated that this year's Mashujaa celebrations will center on Universal Health Care, one of Kenya Vision 2030's core pillars.
The county will highlight numerous healthcare measures performed by the Ruto administration throughout the week-long event.
A portion of the ceremony will also be devoted to honoring and recognizing heroes from throughout the country. Approximately 150 heroes have been chosen to attend the ceremony in person, representing all heroes and heroines from across the country.
