According to Samuel Kahindi, the in-charge of Mikima-ini village, the body was discovered dangling from a rope attached to the toilet roofing.

He allegedly informed his wife that he intended to tether their cows near the private school where his body was recovered.

Kahindi said that His wife informed him they had returned from their rice farm, where they had sprayed pests. He told her he would untie their cows near the private school's compound, but little did she realize he would commit suicide.

Kirinyaga residents have raised concerns over the high frequency of reported suicides in the area.
