One person has died, and four others are nursing serious injuries after a head-on collision between a trailer and a lorry on the busy Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.
The collision happened near the Twin neighborhood of Kuresoi North, which locals labeled a "blackspot" due to recent accidents.
According to witnesses, the trailer's driver appeared to lose control owing to the continued heavy rains and collided with an oncoming vehicle on the opposite side as he descended a hill.

"I was one of the people who witnessed the accident, and I managed to help some people, several of whom had sustained injuries and fractures," a person who witnessed the disaster told Inooro FM.
"We don't know what needs to be done here because accidents here have been on the rise, we appeal to drivers drive slowly when descending this hill."
Mau-summit traffic officers arrived quickly after the accident and coordinated the removal of the wreckage from the two vehicles.
The injured were sent to Molo Sub-county Hospital and Nakuru Level V Hospital, while the deceased's body was transferred to the Molo Sub-county Hospital mortuary.
