A middle-aged man was killed after a car wheel he was inflating at a petrol station in Narok town exploded.

According to John Momanyi, the police commander in the central Narok area, who confirmed the incident, the tyre abruptly burst while being filled.

He was thrown into the air by the explosion and crashed headfirst, killing him instantly.

“While repairing the wheel of the car, as he was continuing to inflate it, the wheel suddenly burst and was able to injure the one who was performing that repair work, “Momanyi claimed.

"Unfortunately, we lost him," he added.

The body of the deceased was transferred to the Narok Referral Hospital mortuary. Momanyi conveyed his condolences to the family on the loss of a loved one.

"We would like to send our condolences to the family who has lost our dear one," he added.

 The police commander urged those in that line of employment to be cautious and prioritize their safety by carrying the essential safety equipment.

“Those helmets they wear are crucial so that in the event of something like this, they are not injured, as we witnessed today, “he said.
