The parents of a student from Set Green Hill Academy Mixed Day and Boarding and Junior school in Kisii want the court to stop the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) from kick-starting form one placement exercise slated to begin tomorrow.
In the papers, the parents argue that the candidate is dissatisfied with the way her papers were marked, saying that the results have caused their child mental stress.
According to the parents, if the placement exercise starts, then the 90 day review period will be unreasonable.
"....she does not understand why there is a marked variance between the marks scores by students at the school inthe previous years and marks posted for the year 2023 in the same KCPE examinations as the said does not fall within a reasonable range," reads court papers.
Several parents and kids have voiced their displeasure with the findings that Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu made public on November 23.

KNEC has been held accountable for the anomalies.
The KNEC committee has previously acknowledged problems in the procedure, stating that it had received objections regarding some inaccuracies in results obtained using the Ministry of Education's short number 40054.
“It was brought to the attention of KNEC that results for some candidates had misalignment of the marks and grades in Kiswahili as they were placed at the Kenyan Sign Language,” read the statement from KNEC CEO David Njengere on Saturday.
