Granada, currently positioned 19th in the league table and winless in their last 11 matches, has decided to part ways with manager Paco Lopez on Sunday. This decision comes just months after Lopez successfully led the team to promotion to La Liga. The team's recent 3-1 loss to Alaves and their overall struggle, with only seven points from 14 matches, prompted this managerial change.
In addition to their on-field struggles, Granada faced further setbacks as they were disqualified from the Copa del Rey earlier this month for fielding an ineligible player.
Paco Lopez, who took over in November, had previously guided Granada to a Spanish second-tier league title, securing their return to the top tier a year after relegation. Following the decision to part ways with Lopez, the statement from Granada also mentioned that his technical staff would be leaving the club.
