While presiding over the 2024 Form One placement at Lenana School on Monday, Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu stated that the 2024 Form One placements were based on candidate preferences and other criteria.
"Some students were placed in schools of equivalent standing outside their counties. This includes those from counties with inadequate capacity," Machogu stated.
The CS also stated that the government is committed to ensuring a full transition to secondary schools and that fees for both day and residential institutions will stay intact.
“Gov’t upholds its commitment to providing free day secondary education, including allocation for tuition and operation expenses. The fees charged in secondary schools will remain unchanged in 2024. Schools will continue to receive funds based on accurate enrolment data,” said Machogu.
