Chari Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), Abdullahi Golicha Maje, is among two suspects arrested Thursday in connection with drug trafficking in Isiolo.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI), he was apprehended alongside Nura Abdi Diba, 25, on the outskirts of Isiolo town in an operation conducted by the Transnational Organized Crimes Unit officers and a multi-agency team.
The duo were found in possession of 57 stones of bhang stashed in a house.
“The two were flagged down within Isiolo town while driving a motor vehicle make Toyota Land Cruiser before the team proceeded to the house of Nura Abdi Diba at Kambi Garba Estate on the outskirts of Isiolo town where six gunny bags containing the 57 stones of the prohibited herb were recovered,” DCI said.
The exhibits were transported to the DCI Headquarters on Kiambu Road for further processing.
