A 14-year-old girl who topped the KCPE examinations at Nyalgunga primary school in the Alego/Usonga sub-county is confused after being selected to join form one at Lenana, a boys' high school.
Gloria Adhiambo Owino and her family were pleased when she received 389 points and was accepted into a national school.
Their happiness was short-lived, however, for when she downloaded her summoning letter, she discovered that she had been allocated to a boys' school.
Speaking to Radio Ramogi from her parents' residential property in Nyalgunga market center, she claims she has been assigned to the boys' school, Lenana.

She is now trapped and claims she attempted in vain to wait for another calling letter because she had chosen numerous National Schools, including Alliance, Starehe Girls, and Kisumu Girls.
Aside from the confusion generated by the error in her Form One placement, Gloria faces the prospect of failing to complete her secondary school due to her low socioeconomic status.
She adds that while she would like to attend Kisumu Girls, her parents cannot pay her school tuition. Therefore, she is asking the government, local officials, and well-wishers to help her achieve her career dream of becoming a medical doctor.
Gloria's mother, Margaret Awuor Halowe, claimed they applied for scholarships at banking institutions in vain.
She has asked well-wishers to assist her in obtaining a suitable placement for her daughter and paying her daughter's school tuition.
