The family and friends of a man are mourning his demise after he was crushed to death by a truck while retrieving potatoes from a truck along Tipis-Olbaoi road.

The lorry was parked at the location so the loaders could unload potatoes before returning to the farm.

Joseph Kang'ethe went to fetch some hidden potatoes from a sack in the back of the truck. The truck driver mistakenly backed up and ran over him.

Kang'ethe was taken to Mau Narok Health Centre, but there was nothing the doctors could do as his injuries were fatal.

The deceased's body was transported to Egerton University's mortuary for a post-mortem as police investigations continue.
