Two bodaboda riders lost their lives after they were involved in a fatal road accident in the Simerro area along the Kisumu-Busia highway on Tuesday evening.
Confirming the accident, Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo said the bodaboda r9oders have been identified as Samuel Odondo and Sylvester Omolo.
Further, he said they died on the spot after they were involved in a head-on collision.
He indicated that one of the riders, Odondo, was moving from Kisumu toward Busia's general direction. When he reached the accident location, he tried to take over another motor vehicle.
In the event, he collided head-on with an oncoming motorcycle from the opposite direction, and as a result of the impact, both riders died on the spot.

Additionally, Kimaiyo said that the second rider, identified as Omolo, had a pillion passenger who sustained pelvic injuries and was rushed to Rang’ala Mission Hospital for treatment.
He said that the scene was visited and bodies moved to Ambira Sub-county Hospital mortuary, while both motorcycles, which were extremely damaged, were towed to Ugunja police station.
