The two men caught on video hanging dangerously from a moving vehicle on a busy highway will be arraigned at Millimani Law Courts after spending the night at Capital Hill Police Station.

The two individuals, Peter Igadwa Agawy and Peleg Mosongo Momari were detained on Monday after the viral video.

The car's driver, Loise Apata, has not been arrested yet, but the Mercedes Benz has been held at the Nairobi Area Traffic Headquarters.

Their arrest came after Kipchumba Murkomen, the Transport Cabinet Secretary, shared the footage on social media on Monday, slamming the car's owner.

While responding to the viral video, transport CS Murkomen said that the Mercedes Benz E-250 registered KCX 959B, owned by James Gathogo Njeri, was breaking traffic laws and endangering passengers and other road users.

"Mr. James Gathogo Njeri this is how your car white Mercedes Benz KCX 959B class E-250 was being driven on Mombasa Road in one of those “where is the Minister” moments. We are concerned and a responsible citizen has alerted us. We shall do what we must," Murkomen wrote on X.

The distressing footage was captured by passengers of another car following them, who drove closer and cautioned the two guys hanging out the windows.

The two were observed laughing and dancing as the car drove down the busy highway, completely unaware of the risk they were putting themselves and other drivers in.
