A woman in Kwale who was arrested after being found in possession of 135kg of bhang with an estimated street value of Sh4 million has been released on ksh 50,000 cash bail awaiting trial.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), 30-year-old Regina Akoth Kungu was arrested at her home with the drugs and over ksh 12000, believed to be from the selling of the drugs.
"30-year-old Regina Akoth Kungu was arrested at her house within Kwa Musa in Diani, wherein several gunny bags containing the prohibited drug and Sh12,100 believed to be proceeds of her peddling were seized." DCI posted
"Upon arraignment, the suspect pleaded not guilty and was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000. The case will be mentioned on April 30, 2024." They added.
