Chiroge residents are mourning the death of a beloved shopkeeper who was shot dead by an unknown gunman in his store in Kisii County.
The shopkeeper, Thomas Achanda, was fatally shot in the Chironge district of Masaba South.
"The assailants launched the attack at around 8:30 pm," police said in a statement.

One individual was brought to a local hospital after being injured during the event.
"A customer by the name Mokaya Nyabuto was also shot," the police report reads in part.
Officers from Ramasha police station are investigating the incident.
