A Ugandan national has been arrested in connection to the brutal murder of his employer in Kombo-ini village, Kirinyaga County.
Kirinyaga County Investigation Officer Jason Mworia said that authorities had been looking for him since November 3, 2023, when he was accused of murdering a 64-year-old lady who had hired him as a Shamba Boy.
According to Mworia, officers nabbed Phillipino Muifi in Nakuru following a months-long pursuit.

Muifi, who has been hiding for more than seven months, has been arrested at Kiamaciri police station in the Mwea-West sub-county. He is anticipated to be transported to court and charged with murder. Police said he fled with the deceased's phone, which was discovered at his aunt's home in Nairobi.
Mworia said officers apprehended the suspect's aunt, who vowed to help find Muifi.
“After taking her to court we were allowed to hold her as we went on with investigation and she was able to convince him to come back to Kenya promising him a job where he was nabbed at Nakuru,” Mworia said.
The Ugandan agricultural laborer is suspected of murdering his boss, Rose Muthoni Kariuki, whose body was discovered by a neighbor who promptly alerted authorities.
Police are still detaining the suspect's aunt, who might be a state witness. Muthoni has resided in Kombo-ini village for more than five years.
