The Judicial Service Commission has postponed interviews for judges of the Court of Appeal that were initially set for between the 3rd and the 20th of June 2024.
The interviews will now be held between 18th June and 9th July 2024.
“The Judicial Service Commission wishes to bring to the attention of members of the public changes in the interview dates for candidates shortlisted for the position of judge of the Court of Appeal. The interviews will now be conducted between 18. June and 9. July 2024,” JSC announced in a statement.
Further, the Commission stated that the detailed schedule of new dates can be accessed on the JSC website.
“We regret any inconveniences caused,” It said.

In April, the Judicial Service Commission shortlisted 41 candidates for Court of Appeal judges positions, onboarding some notable persons and leaving out a fair share.
From the 82 gazetted applicants, some prominent persons given the green light by JSC include Former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Issack Hassan and lawyer Katwa Kigen.
Other notable persons onboarded on the 41-member shortlist include Justices Chacha Mwita, Anthony Mrima, and Lady Justice Grace Nzioka.
Former IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati and former IEBC vice chair Lilian Mahiri Zaja were among those who failed to make the shortlist.
Others include Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD) chairperson Priscilla Nyokabi and Justice Nixon Sifuna.
JSC announced vacancies for 11 Court of Appeal judges on February 2, 2024. These judges would serve until they attain the retirement age of 65 (for early retirees) or 70, as stipulated in the law.
