They are among 11 accused scheduled to appear before the Kakamega Anti-Corruption Court on Thursday.

Eugene Wandera Wamalwa, Principal Quantity Surveyor, is allegedly on the run after the commission ordered him to report to the EACC Regional Office in Kisumu.

EACC Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirmed the officials' arrest, saying that the accused embezzled public monies totaling Kes.17 million by paying for non-existent activities in the alleged building of a Blood Transfusion Centre in Vihiga to assist patients seeking blood transfusions.

The suspects, who spent the night in Kisumu Port Police Station, will be taken to Kakamega Law Courts to enter a plea.
