Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja has officially launched Mama Margaret Uhuru Hospital (MMUH) in Korogocho, which has a 548-bed capacity.

Mama Margaret Uhuru Hospital was recently transferred from the National Government to the Nairobi City County Government. It is one of the largest healthcare facilities in the devolved unit.

Speaking during the launch, Governor Sakaja emphasized that the hospital will cater to both Korogocho residents and the wider city population.

Reassuring the community, Governor Sakaja emphasized that the hospital transfer to the local government is a strategic move to ensure the continuity of high-quality services, dismissing any concerns that the transfer might negatively affect the hospital’s performance.

Health CEC Susan Silantoi echoed the Governor’s sentiments, saying that the facility's launch aims to enhance healthcare services across Nairobi.

Health Facility Chief Officer Geofrey Mosiria confirmed that the facility has the necessary equipment.
