Two people have died and several others injured after a lorry carrying five passengers plummeted into the Nyamindi River on the Kiamutugu-Gituba route in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County.
According to reports, the vehicle plummeted into the river Nyamindi on its way to Gituba from the Kiamutugu market hub.
One person has been reported missing.

Police at the site reported that the four victims were recovered and sent to Kiamutugu Health Centre. Two of them, who were in serious condition, were sent to Kerugoya Hospital.
Police are looking for one missing individual while efforts to recover the vehicle continue.
